About RSL DefenceCare
RSL DefenceCare is a charity helping current and ex-serving members of the Australian Defence Force and their families in times of injury, illness or crisis.
Our services are free of charge and include assistance with Department of Veterans' Affairs (DVA) claims, counselling, support during a crisis or the death of a loved one, and financial assistance.
We help by providing emergency housing when a veteran or their family is homeless or at risk of homelessness. We help by funding vital medical equipment when a family cannot afford it and they are not eligible for assistance from DVA. We help by paying utility and other bills when veterans and their families are struggling financially. We provide support in a disaster, when veterans and their families lose their home or possessions in floods, fires or other emergencies.
There is no charge for our services and we rely on donations to help support our veterans and their families in their time of need.
RSL DefenceCare is an independent service-based charity and public benevolent institution, providing services for those who have sacrificed so much for our country.
How you can help
Registered Clubs can donate to RSL DefenceCare under ClubGRANTS categories 1 and 2 in NSW.
Donations are always accepted from organisations and individuals keen to help veterans in need.
In NSW, RSL DefenceCare runs the ANZAC and Poppy Appeals each year.
The ANZAC Appeal is run in the lead up to ANZAC Day (April 25) each year and Australians can donate to receive a token, including a variety of commemorative pins.
The Poppy Appeal is run in the lead up to Remembrance Day (November 11) and donations are accepted in return for Poppies to honour those we have lost and those injured or ill as a result of their service for our country.
Clubs are welcome to join with us in supporting these Appeals. Please contact us for more information.
