On Wednesday 12th August at 1.00pm the seventh of our Webinar series, “In the Know” will be broadcast via Zoom. The session will run for about 50 minutes.

For many clubs, the uncertainty of future operational profitability and managing debts and liabilities makes the concept of finding an amalgamation partner an increasingly attractive proposition. What are the fundamental attributes that a ‘parent’ club is seeking when considering amalgamation? What steps do clubs need to undertake for a successful amalgamation? What legal steps need to be achieved to gain approval?
This week’s Webinar features the club industry’s most experienced practitioners in managing amalgamations. The Webinar will largely be a discussion forum, with an initial set of comments from our panellists, followed by club attendees invited to participate through an extensive Q&A session.

- Dale Hunt, CEO, Mounties Group will discuss the key requirements for a ‘parent’ club when they are considering an amalgamation;
- Brett Boon and Arj Puveendran, Thomson Geer Lawyers will discuss the why, what and how of amalgamation, outlining the key steps to be addressed and how to avoid the traps
